We’re using new technology to make it even easier to apply for online consultation sessions at Babylon Health. In partnership with Lantum, you can now sign up to our new Digital Staff Bank.

Work directly with Babylon and be the first to see available sessions. You'll stay in control of your own schedule and can communicate directly with the Babylon Clinical Liaison team from your smartphone or computer.

What is Lantum?

Lantum is the UK’s leading digital staffing platform for primary care, connecting PCNs and Practices with GPs to fill rota gaps. Our software allows practice managers to post unfilled shifts, while our community of clinicians can search and apply for those shifts, all in one central location.

How do Babylon Remote Consultation shifts work?

Only GPs that have gone through the onboarding process (see below) will be able to see and apply for Babylon shifts. Once you've gone through the onboarding process, Babylon will send you a laptop and provide all the training/resources you need to successfully deliver patient care.

Am I eligible to work Babylon remote consultation shifts?
In order to work Babylon shifts you must:

  1. Be more than six months post-CCT with face-to-face experience as a salaried NHS GP since qualifying
    - If you're more than one year post-CCT, you need to have experience as a face-to-face, salaried NHS GP in the past two years
  2. Long-term GP locum experience may be accepted instead if it is either:
    - More than six months in a face-to-face NHS GP locum post
    - A regular locum post as a face-to-face NHS GP locum in a single practice in the past two years

You must also:

  • Provide up-to-date compliance documents
  • Provide proof of up-to-date revalidation and appraisal
  • Provide confirmation of being on the NHS Performers List
  • Not be subject to an ongoing GMC investigation
  • Have no restrictions on practice
  • Provide an up-to-date and well-formatted CV reflecting:
    • Current/most recent post(s)
    • Previous experience including any previous work with Babylon
    • Details about any gaps in your employment history

What does the onboarding process look like?

  • Step 1: click on the JOIN HERE button at the top of this page and complete the sign up form. This is to collect some preliminary information that will help with you application down the line:
    • The biography is a short paragraph that patients will see when booking appointments with you. A friendly and succinct biography will get the most bookings!
    • The intended number of sessions per month isn't a binding commitment on your part, its just for us to have a rough estimate.
  • Step 2: set up your Lantum account and link it to the bank. After completing the form you will be automatically sent to the Lantum Babylon sign up page. If you already have a Lantum account, you can still use the link above. Follow the instructions which say 'I have an account' and you will be added to the bank.
  • Step 3: upload your documents. Without all your documents uploaded and approved, you won't be able to apply for shifts. You will also be asked to upload a friendly picture of yourself.
Key Documents:
  • CV (with two referees listed)
  • DBS
  • Passport
  • Moving and Handling
  • Evidence of your last NHS appraisal
  • Infection Prevention and Control
  • Safeguarding Adults - level 3
  • Safeguarding Children - level 3
  • Fire Safety
  • Health, Safety & Welfare
  • Revalidation date evidence
  • Step 4: Once your profile has been approved by Babylon you will be sent a laptop with setup instructions and training to be completed. You will be required to complete two training modules, one will cover how to use Babylon systems and ensure you feel confident consulting with our patients. The other training module will cover our company specific privacy and security policies and procedures. You will be given a 1 week deadline to complete this.
  • Step 5: Once the training is complete you will complete a mock consultation with a Babylon trainer who will support you throughout the process. They will test your understanding of the training and give you an opportunity to ask any questions. You will be given a further 1 week deadline to complete this. You will have two opportunities to pass the mock consultation and if you do not pass first time you will be given feedback on areas for improvement so you are ready for your second attempt.
  • Step 6: With the training and mock consultation complete, the final step before seeing patients is ensuring you can log into your personal Babylon Clinical Portal account (which you will be using to see patients). All the details, along with step by step instructions, will be sent directly to you.
  • Final Step: Apply for a shift!
